WACO, Texas - Senior outside hitter Andie Malloy earned All-Region honors by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, announced by the organization on Tuesday. Selected in the Southwest Region, Andie becomes the first BU player to repeat on the AVCA list since both Taylor Barnes and Anna Breyfogle earned selections in 2008 and 2009.

Malloy is just the seventh BU player to earn an All-Region selection and the fourth to repeat, after earning honorable mention honors in both 2014 and 2015, joining Cory Sivertson, Barnes, and Breyfogle as repeats, with Elisha Polk, Kia Young, and Stevie Nicholas also earning single selections.

Malloy, closing out her second and final year with the Bears after transferring from Iowa State, led Baylor in kills (308), kills per set (3.05), and service aces (33) for the second consecutive year. Andie finished with 10 double-doubles on the season and 28 in her BU career.

The Southwest All-Region team, nominated and voted on by the coaches in the region, is representative of 29 universities, spread across the Big 12, Conference USA, Southland, Southwestern, Sun Belt, and Independent conferences. Of the 20 selections on the Southwest list, 11 came from the Big 12. With North Texas and Rice landing players on the list, BU faced 12 of the All-Region selections this season.

Under first-year head coach Ryan McGuyre, the Bears finished 17-13 on the year, going 5-11 in Big 12 play. BU earned its first winning record since 2012 and the most wins in the Ferrell Center (10) since 2009. Baylor narrowly missed the program's first NCAA Tournament selection since 2011, matching the program's highest ever RPI, peaking at No. 30 earlier in the season.
