THE RUNDOWN
No. 2 Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling (4-0) defeated No. 3 Azusa Pacific University (1-2) in Azusa, Calif., Monday evening.
The Bears were hot early on in the meet, taking the Compulsory Event 39.00-38.25. BU continued to roll in the Acro Event, 68.05-66.35. The Bears were edged by APU in the Pyramid Event by .15, but held on to the lead 97.50-95.95 going into the break. In the second half, the Bears soared in the Toss Event, 125.80-123.60. BU extended its lead in the Tumbling Event to 181.85-178.53.
In the final event of the meet, the Team Routine, Baylor came out with a bang to seal the victory, 283.720-276.380.
HIGHLIGHTS
? The Bears posted season-highs in five of six events: Compulsory (39.00), Pyramid (29.45), Toss (28.30), Tumbling (56.050) and Team Routine (101.87).
? The team of Shayla Moore, Keegan Johnson, Britta Pierce and Lauren Sturm wowed again in Heat 1 of the Acro Event with a 9.9.
? Kiara Nowlin posted a strong 9.9 in the Six Element of the Tumbling Event. ? The team of Kiara Nowlin, Keegan Johnson, Alexa Crumpton, Bresha Pierce, Lauren Sturm, Danielle Hardman, Toni Bronisevsky, Ally Cheatham, Kaelyn Cowan, Britta Pierce and Courtney Pate scored a 9.95 in the Toss Heat of the Compulsory Event.
STAT OF THE DAY
Baylor's perfect 10 of the meet came in Heat 2 of the Pyramid Event. Competitors included Allie Williams, Shayla Moore, Kiara Nowlin, Miranda Girouard, Lauren Sturm, Alexa Crumpton and Courtney Pate.

"We made some changes tonight and tried some new combinations. Our team in Heat 2 of the Pyramid Event was new and deserved the 10 they received," head coach Felecia Mulkey said.
