THE RUNDOWN
NORMAN, Okla. - The eighth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team completed its two-match Big 12 road trip with a 4-0 shutout victory over No. 23 Oklahoma Sunday at the Headington Family Tennis.
It was the second-straight shutout for Baylor (14-3, 2-0), after blanking No. 10 Oklahoma State, 4-0, on Friday. With the loss, the Sooners fell to 11-3 and 1-2 in Big 12 play.
In a closely contested doubles point, BU opened with a 6-4 win by Leolia JeanJean and Kelley Anderson over Simran Sethi and Lily Miyazaki on court two.
Baylor clinched the point as the 10th-ranked Ema Burgic and Blair Shankle took a 6-4 triumph over Malene Stripp and Emma Devine.
In singles action, the Bears kept the momentum rolling as JeanJean blasted past Zita Engbroks, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 4 position.
Theresa Van Zyl was the next Bear to finish, wrapping up a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Stripp at the bottom of the lineup.
The 31st-ranked Shankle provided the clinching point, besting Sethi, 6-2, 6-3, on court two.
With the match decided, singles contests on courts one, three and five were abandoned.
NOTABLES ? The Lady Bears recorded their 10th shutout of the season.
? Baylor has now won 13 straight matches over the Sooners to lead the all-time series 19-2 and has a 15-2 series advantage under Scrivano.
? BU has won 17 straight Big 12 regular season matches and have not lost a conference match since March 27, 2013.
