WACO, Texas - After winning six events at its outdoor season opener, the Baylor track and field team will travel to Austin, Texas, for four days of competition at the 88th-annual Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
"This is always one of the outstanding meets of the season for us," head coach Todd Harbour said. "We look forward to going down to Texas Relays every year. This will be the opener for some of the athletes that competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships and we're looking forward to getting them back. We will have a great representation in Austin."
In total BU has 39 competitors scheduled to take part in one of the country's biggest meets starting on Wednesday. Baylor's 13th-ranked men's team will have 20 participants competing, while the 10th-ranked women will have 19 athletes suit up.
The Texas Relays open at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday with the beginning of the two-day multi-events. Thursday's action will feature the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, and the steeplechase events. The Friday evening session will showcase University/College events for both men and women across the field disciplines, including long and triple jump. That night will also feature the sprint medley and distance medley relays. Saturday will get underway with field events at 10 a.m. and running events starting at noon.
