FAIRMONT, W.Va. - Kiara Nowlin, Shayla Moore and Keegan Johnson received 2015 National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association All-American honor Thursday evening in Fairmont, W.Va. Nowlin was named the 2015 NCATA Most Outstanding Player and Moore earned Freshman of the Year.

Nowlin and Moore earned the program's first-ever national Freshman and Player of the Year honors.

Nowlin, from Oxnard, California, played a key role in the Bears' undefeated, 9-0 season, serving as a constant presence in the Baylor lineup while additionally picking up NCATA Player of the Week honors on April 10th. Competing in eight of the 20 heats in each meet, the sophomore participated in compulsory toss, compulsory tumbling, acro 6 element along with pyramid heats one and two. Heats that included Nowlin picked up a season-high score of 9.65 in the trio and 9.55 for the quad pass, averaging a 9.938 in her individual passes while scoring the only perfect 10 in the NCATA this season in the individual pass. Finally, Nowlin served a key role in the squad's team event, adding four of the 9.9 value standing tumbling passes while contributing a pair of running tumbling passes that start at a 10 value. The honor is Nowlin's first of her career, as the sophomore also scored the first All-American honor of her career.

Moore, an Alpharetta, Georgia native, was a key component of the Bears' historic 2015 campaign, posting a high score of 9.9 in acro and a 10 in pyramid while consistently contributing to every one of Baylor's nine victories. Moore has competed in both the trio and quad passes, notching high scores of 9.65 and 9.5, respectively, while additionally posting a 9.8 in individual pass. Another key contributor to the team event, Moore served as a top and base in different parts of the routine, while also contributing four different standing tumbling passes that score a 9.9 while adding a running tumbling pass that posted a 10 start value. Moore also earned NCATA Player of the Week honors, recording the designation on March 17th.

This is Johnson's second All-American honor and the first for both Nowlin and Moore. The sophomore and freshman join six Bears to have earned All-American status: Keegan Johnson (2013, `15), Stephanie Bohmler (2013), Hailey Cowan (2012, '13), Jayme Edwards (2011), Madeline Felio (2011), and Lori Williamson (2014). The trio will hit the mat tomorrow with the No. 1 Bears, Friday, April 24, at 1:45 p.m. (CT) against No. 8 King University in its quest to win its first national championship.
