THE RUNDOWN
DES MOINES, Iowa - On the second day of the Drake Relays, the Baylor track and field team was led by its hurdlers as
Tiffani McReynolds and
Bryce Grace both qualified for their event's finals Friday at Drake Stadium.
McReynolds placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 13.41 and Grace was fourth with time a time of 14.19 in the 110-meter hurdle event. Both athletes battled a strong head wind, but were still able to advance to Saturday's finals.
In the relays, the Baylor men's 4x100-meter relay foursome of Trayvon Bromell, KD Cannon, Malik Wilson and Kevin Harris posted a 40.10 to qualify fifth in the prelims.
On the women's side, the crew of McReynolds, Kehri Jones, Juanita Mainoo and Justise Dayries turned in a mark of 45.68 to qualify seventh in the prelims of the event.
In the men's 4x400-meter race, Brandon Moore, Chris Platt, Richard Gary and George Caddick produced a time of 3:07.45, qualifying third in the prelim round.
Cion Hicks picked up a second-place finish in the women's shot put, throwing 51-9.25 [15.78m].
