WACO, Texas - The Baylor track and field team is sending 27 student-athletes to take part in the 2015 NCAA West Preliminary Rounds at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, Thursday through Saturday.

FRIDAY
Running Events: 5 p.m.
Field Events: 12 p.m.
SATURDAY

STORYLINES
Baylor will have a total of 28 entries in the field at the NCAA €ˆWest Preliminary Rounds. The women will have 15 entries, while the men have 13 with each vying for a top-12 spot that earns a berth to the NCAA €ˆFinals site in Eugene, Ore. June 10-13.

Baylor is currently ranked No. 12 in the NCAA €ˆon the women's side and No. 14 on the men's side. The BU €ˆwomen are one of six Big 12 teams in the top 25, while the BU €ˆmen are one of the league's five in the top 25.

This week Baylor has 15 marks that are in the top 12 of the West Preliminary standings, including on time that leads the region. Senior Tiffani McReynolds leads the nation with a 100-hurdle mark at 12.70.

Meanwhile, BU €ˆhas four runner-up marks in the region, including Trayvon Bromell (100m, 200m), Felix Obi (triple jump) and Brianna Richardson (triple jump).

Bromell, a Bowerman watch list member and the Big 12 Male Performer of the Year, has not lost a 100 or 200-meter race in 2015, winning three at each distance.

Baylor has four athletes competing in two individual events: Kehri Jones (100, 200 meters), McReynolds (100 meters, 100 hurdles), Cion Hicks (shot put, discus) and Bromell (100 meters, 200 meters).

In one event, Baylor has three entries, which is the men's 200-meter dash with Bromell, Kevin Harris and Malik Wilson.

The Bears have three of their four relay teams qualified for the preliminary rounds as the men's 4x1 team is fifth-best in the region and the 4x4 crew third. On the women's side, the sprint-relay quartet is 18th-best.

Outside of the top three region marks, two Baylor school-record holders Annie Rhodes (pole vault) and Olicia Williams (800 meters) sit at No. 4 in the region.

In its last meet, Baylor's women placed fifth and the men were fourth at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship in Ames, Iowa. Baylor had a program-record eight individual event champions at the conference meet and totaled 44 All-Big 12 honors at the league championship, coming from a total of 20 competitors who placed in their respective event's top eight.
