June 14, 2015 WACO, Texas - - Baylor University today announced a multi-year partnership making PepsiCo the exclusive beverage provider for all campus vending, dining, residential and athletic facilities. PepsiCo's portfolio of iconic brands includes Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana, Aquafina, Lipton Iced Tea, Starbucks Ready-to-Drink Coffee and Naked Juice, among others. PepsiCo's Frito-Lay and Quaker products are already available on campus. Dr Pepper will also continue to be sold and the long-standing "Dr Pepper Hour" will still convene weekly.
Conversion to PepsiCo beverage products is currently underway and is expected to be complete by September. Baylor and PepsiCo will partner on local marketing and retail promotional opportunities both on and off campus, focusing on the popular soft drink Mountain Dew. Students can expect to see unique experiences with social media tie-ins, such as the Student Game Day Dew area, on campus starting this fall. The leading sports fuel brand Gatorade will also help Baylor Bear student-athletes perform at their best with a key presence at all athletic events and facilities, including the state-of-the-art McLane Stadium.
New Pepsi vending machines will have cashless payment options and PepsiCo Recycling will place "Dream Machine" kiosks on campus -- interactive receptacles that reward users with points for bottles or cans they recycle. The use of these recycling machines also supports PepsiCo's partnerships with The Nature Conservancy and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities program.
"Baylor is excited to begin this new partnership with PepsiCo and offer expanded, great-tasting beverage selections to the campus community and our fans," said Baylor's Vice President and Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "We also appreciate PepsiCo's recognition of the long-standing relationship Baylor has enjoyed with Dr Pepper, and are pleased that their products will continue to be served on our campus moving forward."
"We're proud to serve our refreshing PepsiCo beverages to the Baylor campus and know students, faculty and guests alike will enjoy our wide array of premier products," said PepsiCo North America Beverages' South Region Vice President & General Manager Vaughn Dickinson. "We're looking forward to working closely with Baylor to bring our marketing initiatives to life and create exciting experiences for the entire school community."
