IRVING, Texas – For a sixth consecutive season, Baylor will be featured as part of ESPN’s Big Monday platform. The Bears will host Texas on Feb. 1, and the game will tip off at 8 p.m. CT, the Big 12 Conference office announced Wednesday.

This will mark the fourth time in the last five seasons that Baylor will match up against Texas on Big Monday, though it will be the first time the teams will play a Big Monday game in Waco.

All eight of the Big 12 Conference’s Big Monday games will tip off at 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN and available on WatchESPN.

BU lost in overtime at Texas in its Big Monday game last season. The Bears are now 4-9 all-time on Big Monday, but that includes a 3-3 record in their last six appearances. Baylor is 3-2 in Big Monday home games, with wins against Kansas in 2001 and against Oklahoma State in 2013 and 2014.

Baylor played its first Big Monday game in 2001, and the Bears appeared on the platform two times during the 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014 seasons and three times in 2013. The Bears have faced Kansas six times (1-5), Texas four times (1-3), Oklahoma State twice (2-0) and Kansas State once (0-1).

The Big 12 is the only league among the Big 12, ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC to play a full double round-robin schedule in basketball. The Conference was rated as No. 1 in the RPI a year ago for the second straight campaign, with every squad recording at least one victory over a top 25 opponent. Nine of 10 league squads were ranked or received votes in the top 25 a year ago.

The full Big 12 Conference schedule is slated to be released in the coming weeks.
