THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Baylor men's tennis senior Julian Lenz and the doubles duo of Jimmy Bendeck and Will Little will play in the Sherwood Collegiate Cup finals at the Sherwood Country Club Monday.
In the 32-man singles draw, the No. 1 seeded Lenz beat UCLA's Karue Sell, 6-2, 6-0, in the semifinals. He is now 4-0 in the last three days in California with all victories coming in straight sets.
In the semifinals of the 16-tandem doubles draw, Bendeck and Little upset No. 42 Nolan Paige and Maciek Romanowicz of Stanford, 7-5. The pairing has now won three straight matches at the event. Baylor's five other singles participants went 4-1 on the third day of action.
In the consolation semifinals, Little dropped a 6-3, 6-1 contest vs. UCLA's Martin Redlicki.
In back draw matches, BU was 4-0 with wins from Tommy Podvinski, Felipe Rios, Max Tchoutakian and Bendeck. That quartet of victories was highlighted by Rios' 6-4, 7-5 upset over 83rd-ranked Jake DeVine of USC

Play continues at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup on Monday as the main draw doubles final will start at 11 a.m. CT. Meanwhile, singles final action begins at 12 p.m. CT.
Bendeck and Little will face UCLA's Joseph Di Giulio and Karue Sell in the finals, while Lenz will play UCLA's Gage Brymer.
