Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement...
"I'm really proud of our seniors. In Big 12 challenge games, we're 6-1, best record in the Big 12. These guys [current Baylor team] were undefeated in the challenge, and I think they take great pride in representing the Big 12 and being dependable. I'm very proud of that."
On the upcoming Texas game...
"What I have seen is they're one of the hottest teams in conference. Coach Smart has really got them playing well as a cohesive unit. When Cameron [Ridley] went down it took a little time to get rolling again. But they're playing great basketball and they have a different style, so we have to be really sharp tomorrow in our preparation."
Senior Rico Gathers
On starting the second half strong...
"We wanted to just come out and take over the game. I think we did a good job of that. Everybody came and made some big shots that killed the momentum for them going forward. They're a tough team and they tried to battle back. They had some great shooters. The most important thing was we didn't let their runs dictate how we came out on the offensive end and executed."
On taking a break from conference play...
"I don't care if it's conference or not, the most important thing is the win at the end of the day. Whenever you're playing for wins and not for yourself or selfish reasons, it makes it easy to go out there and do everything you can to make sure your team is successful."
Sophomore Johnathan Motley
On the spark from the bench...
"Coming off the bench, it's always our job to bring energy when our starters get tired, so I tried to bring as much energy as possible."
On the break from conference play...
"Like Rico said, a W is a W, and that's what we want. It gives us a little added confidence coming into the UT game, so we'll be doing everything we can to win."
GEORGIA POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Fox
Opening Statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Really a hard fought game. I thought our team played the first half exactly like we wanted to. Baylor's start in the second offensively overwhelmed us and we were unable to stop it fast enough, so we played from a deep hole for most of the second half and we give their kids credit on the start in the second half."
On Baylor's scoring stretch to start the secondà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Well, I thought they got some momentum and I thought their three-point shooting got a little contagious there for a minute, and that's to their credit. Until I review the tape, I won't know certain things we did wrong, but certainly left some guys wide open."
On playing non-conference games on the road midseasonà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think it is very difficult to play these games in the middle of conference season on the road. I was not stunned at the other results, it's hard to have a road game of this magnitude at this time of the year. But that is taking nothing away from Baylor, they have a good basketball team and they outplayed us."
