Bendeck Makes ITA All-American Championships Qualifying Draw

TULSA, Okla. ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" With two more victories, Baylor men's tennis sophomore Jimmy Bendeck advanced out of the prequalifying singles draw and into the qualifying draw at the 2016 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center Sunday.

To open the day, Bendeck, seeded 17th in the draw, downed Duke's TJ Pura 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 64. He then upset ninth-seeded McClain Kessler of Florida in a three-set battle 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-0.

Bendeck is now 6-0 on the year and one of 16 players to advance from the 256-man pre-qualifying draw and into the 128-man qualifying draw.

WHAT'S NEXT
On Monday, Bendeck will play in the first round of the qualifying draw against Diego Vives of Princeton at 10 a.m.

Constantin Frantzen will join Bendeck in the qualifying draw, facing South Florida's Alberto Barroso-Campos at 9:30 a.m.

Meanwhile in doubles action, Frantzen will team with Max Tchoutakian in the qualifying doubles draw where they will take on Oklahoma State's Lukas Finzelberg and Mathieu Scaglia at 2 p.m.
