Following its loss at Kansas State, Baylor volleyball (18-7, 6-3 in Big 12) looks to redeem itself against Texas Tech (10-15, 0-10) at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Lubbock.

Staying at home for most of the first half of conference play, the Bears matched their best Big 12 start ever at 6-2. But now, they have to go through a gauntlet of away games, presenting a whole new variety of challenges.

"We've got to keep fighting. It's been a grind for us," said second year head coach Ryan McGuyre. "Our depth's been good, but it's been depleted with the injuries. So, we've got to be able to travel well, we've got to be able to find rest whenever we can get it, but then we've got to be sharp."

Even with the loss at Kansas State, sophomore hitter Aniah Philo is hitting her stride at the right time, recording her sixth double-double of the season ith 11 kills and 10 digs against the Wildcats.

Redshirt junior Katie Staiger posted her Big 12-best 13th double-double of the season with her 22 kills and 13 digs, exceeding the team's total from last season (12).

"You never know when it's your turn to shine," McGuyre said. "Whether it's Daria (Richards), Nicole (Thomas), Amanda (Lesikar), Ashley (Fritcher)... any of those ones, I think, at times can sustain a long run. We need it to come from all of us, it's a team effort, but ideally you'd like to have at least three people on the court that become a focal point for the defense to try to stop."

Between his batch of young players and experienced front consisting of High Point University transfer Camryn Freiberg and Louisville transfer Philo, McGuyre certainly has options at his disposal. And with Staiger playing at an All-American form, the Bears are sure to present a massive challenge to last-place Texas Tech

However, McGuyre says the Red Raiders will present some challenges of their own.

"They're really talented in the middle. Lauren Douglas, when she gets going, can be very effective. So, we need to do a good job defending middle attack. She does a good job hitting off one foot so we've got to prepare for her."

After sweeping the first meeting on Sept. 28 in Waco, the Bears will try to complete the season sweep Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena. The game will be broadcast by FOX Sports Southwest Plus, with Robert Giovannetti and Mike Moffit calling the action.

WACO, Texas -- Baylor volleyball (18-7, 6-3) continues through the back half of the conference schedule, trekking to Lubbock to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders (10-15, 0-10) on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.

BU is coming off a 3-1 road loss to the Kansas State Wildcats, but still maintain sole ownership of the third place slot in the conference standings.

The Bears will look to reach seven Big 12 wins for the first time since the 2012 squad capped out at seven. BU will have six more matches in the season following the Wednesday evening contest.

The two squads have faced once already this season, with BU securing a 3-0 sweep on Sep. 28 in Waco.

Baylor takes a four-match win streak over TTU into Wednesday's match, but trails the Red Raiders in the all-time series, 30-47, including a 12-25 margin in Lubbock.

The Wednesday showdown will be televised on FOX Sports Southwest Plus, with Robert Giovannetti and Mike Moffit handling talent for the network.
