BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On the exhibition season's conclusionà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Well it was good not to play against each other every day in practice and beat each other up. The good from tonight's game is, other than that we won, we faced a zone. We're going to see a lot of zone, because we're so big they're going to challenge us to shoot the perimeter. We didn't shoot it very well tonight, but we can and we are very capable. The previous game we had to defend a lot of motion offense where they bring the bigs outside, so I thought those things were good. I don't really look at the score. I know you think we blew them out, but really you're looking at little things, because we're going to be presented with some zone, and going to be presented with some presses."

On expanding into the lineup...
"I could go deeper, I think a lot of that depends on the big, tough games that are coming up. Who can help us? Foul trouble plays a role in that, but yeah, I can go deep if I need to. Obviously, you're going to go with your most experienced players and then you're going to sub in players with those experienced players so that they can be comfortable. Going on the road will be very, very difficult like when we go to Connecticut. We'll see who is playing well. There is no doubt that we have post players that can play."

On counting on guards for reboundsà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Well, they're going to have to. I mean, as big as we are you would think they don't have to, but there's going to be a lot of long rebounds and they need to be alert. They need to get everything in that foul line, midrange for us, because when they do that, we can take off and run. We're going to continue, the only one that really doesn't have to go in there is whichever one is playing point guard at the time."

Senior Alexis Jones
On an improved performance tonightà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Yes, we talked about pushing the ball more and getting into the flow of our offense and trying to get easy buckets. We wanted to come out and have a better start than that last one."

On chemistry with Kristy Wallaceà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think the good thing about me and Kristy is that we both can push the ball up the floor really well, which gets the offense flowing and forces the defense to get back because they can't stop playing defense at all. It's either I'm coming down the floor with the ball or Kristy is coming down the floor with the ball, so it makes the game a lot faster for us."

Junior Kristy Wallace
On depth of team...
"I think we are a very versatile team and have a lot of depth. So it's good to see numbers coming from all across the board. We're a very unselfish team and we like to share it around and I think our stats from tonight prove that."

On guards who can shoot the three-point shot well...
"I think we've got some guards that can shoot the three ball and will draw some players out and allow our bigs to get some points in the paint. I think we are a great team and have a lot to improve on, but we've got some potential."
