BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH Scott Drew
Opening Statement:
"First and foremost, I thought we did a great job coming off the break. You're always worried the first game back your team is not going to be as sharp, but I thought we were really good for the most of 40 minutes. We never really had any letdowns so I'm excited about that and I know it changed the game without [Jordan] Woodard and [Dante] Buford out there but I was proud of what our guys did."

On his team's defensive effort:
"We know how good OU is in transition especially up here when they get turnovers and can get out and go. So we worked really hard and were conscious to limit those and I think for the most part we did a really good job."

On playing so well in a tough environment:
"I remember a lot of trips up here that didn't go very well. This is a tough place to play and they always have great players and coaches. A lot of respect for Coach Kruger and his staff."

On the team's hot start this season:
"Well I know they (Oklahoma) weren't at full strength number one. That's first and foremost, but I thought we were sharp after the break and again I have to credit our upperclassmen for making sure everyone was ready to go. This was just one game and we've had games were we played well and then we didn't play well the next game, so after this bus ride it'll be about refocusing on the next game."

On how well his team controlled the rebounding and paint:
"I think we got some transition buckets that helped open things up but we've been working on trying to be a better rebounding team so it was good to see (Johnathan) Motley play like that."

JUNIOR FORWARD Johnathan Motley
On the team's defensive effort:
"Everybody was locked in tonight. We looked at the scouting reports and made sure we executed to the fullest."

On what was working so well:
"Everyone was just playing with a lot of energy flying around and doing the things they needed to do. They like to shoot a lot of 3s and we were just trying to make them put the ball on the floor and finish over our bigs."

On winning in a tough environment starting Big 12 play:
"We were definitely confident; we believe in ourselves. We have goals we're trying to accomplish and everyone is locked in on those goals. It showed out there."

JUNIOR GUARD Manu Lecomte
On if guarding the 3-point line was emphasized during game preparation:
"Yeah they have a couple of great shooters so we made sure we closed out and made sure they don't get hot. I think we did a great job."

On if they knew Senior Guard Jordan Woodard wasn't going to play:
"I had no idea. Before the game coach said that number 13 [Jordan Shepard] would start but I had no idea. Honestly, it didn't matter because we were ready to play no mater what."

On how well he shot tonight:
"Yeah I felt great tonight, my teammates did a great job of finding me as always. Just got to keep shooting."

OKLAHOMA POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH LON KRUGER
Opening Statement:
"I thought Baylor played great. We obviously didn't offer the resistance that we needed to or wanted to. We've got to do a lot of things better on both sides of the court. I credit Baylor to causing us a lot of trouble, but still we've got to focus on getting better from our end. We've got a lot of work to do and there isn't any shortcut to it. We've got to get back tomorrow and work on getting better."

On senior guard Jordan Woodard's absence:
"You know all we can say is that it's a medical situation and he'll continue to be evaluated and monitored. Obviously, that's all we can say about that. Hopefully his return is sooner rather than later, but there really is no time table to it."

On if the team ready to play without Woodard:
"The interest level is there, but we're not ready to play at the level that we need to in Big 12 play. I think defensively and offensively we've just got to get better. The interest is there and they want to. We've got to teach better together to figure out a way to make progress, but no this is not a level that is going to get success. We've got to raise the bar. We've got to expect more. We've got to do more. Again, credit to Baylor for making us look worse than we were."

On effort levels:
"It's hard to measure effort. I thought we were a little timid early. I don't think it's much effort as it was deer in the headlight. I think their length and size bothered us, and maybe surprised us a little bit. I thought we had some decent looks early that didn't go, but we've got to compete harder to get results. We talk about that all the time. Whether that's because of Baylor whipping us, or us not doing what we need to, it's hard to measure that sometimes. Baylor certainly had a lot to do with it."

JUNIOR GUARD CHRISTIAN JAMES
On Jordan Woodard's absence:
"Definitely, but at the end of the day there are five guys on the court that have to play. You know we missed him, but we still have to play. This is Big 12 basketball and we have to bring it every night."

On effort levels:
"We've got to step up. It's a new team and we've got to regroup. I think that was an eye-opener for us to let us know how much work we have to do. We've got to keep working every day."

JUNIOR FORWARD KHADEEM LATTIN
On finding footing against Baylor's big men:
"Baylor's bigs are pretty good. We'll be ready for them next time."
