WACO, Texas -- The 30th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will host No. 6 Vanderbilt Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Baylor (4-4) opened the season with three straight victories before dropping four of its last five matches. BU's last win came at home in a 4-2 win over Oregon on Feb. 5. Last time out, the Bears fell 4-0 to No. 3 Florida on the road. Baylor's only ranked duo of Blair Shankle and Kiah Generette sits at No. 20.
Vanderbilt, the defending NCAA champions, hold a 6-2 overall record. The Commodores most recently downed 25th-ranked Northwestern, 4-3, on Feb. 14.
Vanderbilt boasts three ranked players, including No. 16 Frances Altick, No. 20 Sydney Campbell and No. 22 Astra Sharma. In doubles, Campbell and Courtney Colton sit at No. 6.
The Commodores hold a 7-1 all-time record against the Bears, including a 4-3 loss in Nashville in 2015. Baylor's only win over Vandy took place in 2006 when the Bears came out on top 4-2.
Prior to the Saturday's match, the team will host a session of the Baylor Cub Tennis Program. Children 11-years-old and under can come to the Hurd Tennis Center to receive free basic tennis instruction.
Admission to all home regular season matches is free.

After Saturday's action, the Bears will take on Texas A&M for the second time this season, this time in College Station at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
