Following that loss, the Bears still led on courts two and six as Theresa Van Zyl owned a 7-6(1), 2-1 advantage and Traxler held a 6-4, 5-4 lead, respectively.
Traxler's opponent Daniela Nasser had jumped out to two-break leads in both the first (4-1) and second (3-0) sets, but the freshman Bear battled back each time. However, the match would be decided in a second-set tiebreaker, which Traxler won 7-4 to secure the 4-2 victory for the Bears.

TOP QUOTE #1
"Overall, the team has the right mindset. They did a great job responding after the Tulsa match. Their effort and their energy were really good, and have been good for most of the season. Today, I feel like the difference was they played with a lot of greater purpose, and they played more accountable tennis." - head coach Joey Scrivano on the match
TOP QUOTE #2
"We're still a work in progress and there's a lot of room to improve, but we were 10 percent better than we were against Tulsa, and that makes a big difference. I'm really proud of their energy. It's a team effort to win these types of matches. Thankfully, we have a lot of players who compete hard and just don't give up. I feel like to win team matches, you have to get it from multiple courts, and we got that today." - Scrivano on how the match was won
