BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
Opening statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It's family day. You can't hide the fact that the kids keep up with wins and losses. I knew I was going to sub a lot and let everybody get a chance to see their kid play today, and when you do that it takes you out of rhythm, it takes you out of sync. We won, that's all that matters. Overall, if I said there were two areas we didn't do a good job in we gave up way too many threes and I thought we turned the ball over unnecessarily. It's a win and you expect that as a coach when you're subbing the way I was subbing today. Good thing is it's a win. They got to see their kid play. We took care of business at home these past two games and now we go and play two on the road."

On the turnovers today à ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think it's just not being in rhythm, trying to hit a homerun instead of taking the single, trying to make a spectacular play. It was more of what we did to ourselves and not what they did. We got a lot of kids rested these past two games, which is so important this late in the year. But we got them enough repetition to not let them get out of shape."

On Alexis Jones being scorelessà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"She got in foul trouble. She picked up the two fouls so she was on the bench most of the first half. Alexis is a player where sometimes she over-passes and doesn't think about scoring. I just thought today that with the flow of the game and the substitutions, she just passed it and wasn't thinking scoring. She just never had to do any of that."

On if this team could be headed to another final fourà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I really don't even think about it at this point. Our goal right now is to win a Big 12 Championship. Ask me that question as we head into the NCAAs after the Big 12 tournament. Do we have the talent? Is it a goal of ours? Yes and yes, we have that talent. It is a goal because we have returning players and we have young players who are talented. A lot of things have to take place when you hit the playoffs. You have to all be playing good. You have to stay away from injury. It's too early to know if we are going to do that or not. Are we playing pretty good now? Yeah, but when we play a game like this where I'm moving kids in and out I don't know if that helps or hurts. It doesn't matter, it's exactly what needed to take place today so people could see their child play. The most talented teams don't always win. We are kind of a testament to that. In 2005 we were not the most talented team and we won the national championship. It was because we were healthy and we were on a roll. If those things happen at the end of the year, I know that whoever beats us is going to have a game on their hands."

Junior Alexis Prince
On her big game todayà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"It was big for my confidence. It showed me that I could still play and get better every game."

On recovering from her knee injuryà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I feel good. I'm taking it day-by-day and just each practice I keep getting better and seeing if I can get more reps."

Freshman Kalani Brown
On when she gets passed the ball right under the basketà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"The first thing that comes to my mind is to finish. Lately in practice we have been working on gathering ourselves when we catch the ball and finishing through contact."

On her progression this year à ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I'm definitely a little bit more comfortable being on the floor. We're gelling as a team and we still have stuff to learn and stuff to work out, but I think just like coach said, we get better every game and I'll just keep working hard."

KANSAS POSTGAME QUOTES

Kansas Head Coach Brandon Schneider
Opening statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"Baylor is obviously very talented and extremely well-coached. I said to Coach [Kim] Mulkey at our place that I think they're potentially looking at another Final Four and she was worried about their depth, but it's nice to see that they're getting some players back healthy. I am obviously disappointed in the score of today's game, and the fact that we lost, but I hope those that watched felt like Kansas continued to fight for 40 minutes. I thought our girls played extremely hard and I was proud of our effort."

On Baylor's size and if it was a problemà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think Baylor's size is a problem for a lot of people, and not just on the inside, that's obvious. I think, especially for us, when we're giving up four to five inches on the perimeter makes it difficult to have an effect on the ball when they can just look over the top of you and find those post players. Their size, I would believe, presents a problem for everybody in the league."

On if it bothered them having to shoot a lot from the outsideà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It was difficult for us to get the ball in the paint a lot because of their size. I didn't think the disparity was because of the officials at all, but because of the fact that they were physically imposing at multiple positions, which caused us to be out of position and commit fouls."

Freshman Aisia Robertson
On what to take from a game like thisà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Learning experience. I know that my coaches will show me a film of the mistakes I had, so this is just another chance for me to grow and get better for our next game."
