WACO, Texas -- Baylor soccer posted a 2-0 shutout win over Washington on Friday evening at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. The Bears (6-3-0) used goals in each half to take down the Huskies (5-2-1) in their first home match in over two weeks.
BU dominated the match from start to finish and grabbed all the momentum in the 31st minute. Sarah King gathered a loose ball in her own end and launched a long pass into Amanda Hoglund down the left wing. Hoglund outran her defender to create a one-on-one breakaway chance and slipped a touch shot through the legs of the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.
The Bears put the game out of reach in the 52nd minute on a cross by Raegan Padgett that was headed in by King for the 2-0 edge that stood.

QUOTE OF THE GAME
"It starts with our leadership, and that's in the back where our veterans are. This game can't go by without talking about how well we played on defense. They had two really good goal scorers on that team and I think one of them had a shot. We did a really great job limiting their opportunities." -- Head Coach Paul Jobson
