THE RUNDOWN
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Baylor soccer (10-3-2, 4-2-1 Big 12) fought off a second half rally, taking a 1-0 win over the Kansas Jayhawks (7-7-2, 2-3-1 Big 12) on Sunday afternoon at Rock Chalk Park.

After controlling the pace and holding an 8-4 edge in shots and 6-1 lead in corners in the first half, the Bears faced a steady attack from the Jayhawks in the second period, with KU holding even on shots (7-7) and leading in corners (6-3).

The Bears finally connected late in the second, led by a push into the penalty box. Raegan Padgett chipped a pass over to Aline De Lima, who fought through a collision with KU goalkeeper Maddie Dobyns to tap in the gamewinner for BU.

BU goalkeeper Jennifer Wandt finished with her eighth clean sheet of the season, with the Baylor defense keeping KU from taking a shot on goal in the entirety of the match.

*Raegan Padgett notched her first assist of the season and the fourth of her collegiate career.

TOP QUOTE
"People need to realize that it's extremely difficult to go on the road and get two wins. It's almost unheard of to go on the road and get six points. We were able to go on the road and do something that we haven't done in a while either. It just goes to show the maturity and resolve of this team. It wasn't pretty, most Sundays usually aren't. But they were able to fight through that and get another victory." - Baylor head coach Paul Jobson

STAT OF THE MATCH
542 - the number of regulation minutes played since the Bears last gave up a goal outside of overtime play. The last time BU gave up a goal in regulation was in the 88th minute versus West Virginia on Sept. 22.

WHAT'S NEXT
Baylor closes with its final regular season home match, hosting No. 9 Texas on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.
