BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey

On how tonight went overallÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Well, let's make it perfectly clear. It's about winning. Isn't that what coaches say? It's about winning, and we won. We've got to move on, quickly. We have a very good UCLA team in front of us, on the road. I'm sure they've been waiting on us since last year. I thought the returning players, and that includes Juicy Landrum as well, were solid for us tonight. I tried to do some substituting when we got a lead and we just couldn't get back in the flow to extend and maintain the lead. So, I had to use the returning players again, which is expected. That's not unexpected, but we can't just play five all year - Well, I guess we can, but I certainly don't want to."

On the defense tonightÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"They don't shoot threes like that, that's their game plan. Look guys, I told the team at shoot-around, they're going to come in here, and they're going to stall it. They're not going to shoot it until under 10 seconds on the shot clock, I'd do the same thing, because that shortens the game and takes possessions away from us, and that's exactly what they did. Then they just ducked their head and tried to shoot a three, penetrate, and kick it out. That's obviously what they did for four quarters and that's respect for our basketball team. I think we hung in there as best as we could, and we move on."

Baylor Sophomore Lauren Cox
Playing with Kalani Brown and the way she passesÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It helps me. We have that connection with each other. We know where to put the ball. We know that the other post is going to catch it and score. We're going to get doubled a lot down in the post, so we have to know where the other post is and all the shooters outside."

Playing against smaller teamsÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"We expect that. We expect that the double team is going to be there. They're going to try to stop us. They're going to push us out, so we have to adjust how we post up and what kind of moves we make. But I think our main offense that we usually do, that's going to work most of the time."

Baylor Sophomore Natalie Chou
On the threes scored tonightÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I'm pretty sure Kalani assisted on two of them. We've been practicing that, and she just found me. I felt good about my shot, so I shot it and it went in. We practice it, so she knows where I am. I'm an option."

CENTRAL ARKANSAS POSTGAME QUOTES

Central Arkansas Head Coach Sandra Rushing
Opening StatementÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Wow. They're big, fast, and good. There was nothing we could do. Everything that we tried to do, they had something for. This was a great experience for our program. It was a lot of fun, not to get beat as bad as we did, but to come in here and play Baylor. I've always had respect for Coach Mulkey and her program and what she's accomplished. And this is first class. Everybody was so friendly and so helpful. They run a first-class program. That's about it, y'all. It was a great experience, but we've got a long way to go. I'm very proud of our players. Very proud. We're small, but we fought, and that's all you can ask coming in and playing Baylor."

On keeping it closer than other schools haveÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"That's what I'm proud of. I'm serious. I'm proud of our players. But if we denied the high post, they're going to lob it in, and our backside is just small guards. They're just great all the way around. It was fun. It was a great experience to be on the big stage. That's where we want to end up. We've been fortunate in the last couple of years to go to the NCAA Tournament, and that's fun. Of course, if we have the opportunity to go again this year, I definitely don't want to play Baylor. But, that's what we're working for. You want your young kids, and I have eight new players, to experience something like this."

On the main message to teamÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Of course, as coaches, we'll go back and break down film. Our players will watch the film, because we're working for a championship. That's what you work for. But, yeah, no matter who we play, we're going to break it down and show our players."
