BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening statement...

"A lot better feeling in the locker room after two losses. It was great to see six guys in double figures and great to see 18 assists. Obviously, after a tough loss you have to play the next game and it's not same feeling. This wasn't against a ranked teams and wasn't a nationally televised game with all the hype. I thought the upperclassmen did a great job of making sure we came out intense, focused and set the tone early."

On if the team was ready to get back on the court after two lossesÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Players always want to get back on the court. The difference is getting on the court and being energetic and focused versus coming out and not being excited to play. That does happen after a big win or big loss sometimes. I am really pleased that we did not have that today and I thought the guys did a really good job of cheering on each other."

On success defending and shooting the three-point shotÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"In our two losses we didn't defend the three-point line or we defended it and they made contested shots, either way, they made them and we didn't. We really tried to make a conscious effort to shoot the three, but we also try to get the ball inside first. In games like this sometimes you can forget about the inside."

Senior Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.
On the quick turn around from Saturday's gameÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It was great to come back and have a chance to get a quick turn around and get a chance to feel better about ourselves. Coming off two losses in a row, we knew we needed to bounce back and the team did a great job of playing with energy and our defense was great tonight."

On the offense trying to run off inside gameÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I feel like with [Terry Maston] out now we are short on post guys so I am getting more touches. I think coach was trying to make an emphasis on trying to get the ball down low and show that we can play inside out."

Freshman Tyson Jolly
On playing 17 minutes versus three against Wichita StateÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It shocked me, I didn't know I was going to play that much today. My teammates carried me; they helped me on defense and offense. They gave me confidence and it made playing easy."

On his role on this teamÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I can do it all. If they need me to score one night, I will score. Need me to assist, I will assist. I will rebound, guard the best player, and whatever else the team needs me to do."

SAM HOUSTON STATE POSTGAME QUOTES

Sam Houston State Head Coach Jason Hooten
Opening statementÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"Obviously, disappointed giving up 84 points and getting basically beat by 30. As crazy as it sounds, though, we executed to a tee against that zone. I was very proud of our execution, got wide open shots. I think if we make 10 out of 26 threes it is a totally different game."

On SHSU going through scoring droughts too oftenÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"We have. I mean it's very hard when you play a team that is that long and athletic. I mean we only got outscored 36 to 32 in the paint. When you're playing a team that is that big, scoring 32 means that you're doing something right. Just have to make some threes to go along with that."

On winning the rebound battleÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It is [something we can take away from this game and build on], but they shot 48 percent, so there aren't a lot of rebounds to get. I will tell you that we have done a really good job of offensive rebounding. That's the disappointing thing is that we are offensively rebounding, but as a team right now we are shooting 41 percent."

On Baylor as a teamÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I'm not sure, they have played a tough schedule. I've tried to compare them to last year's team, and I think the only difference right now is just the big kid [Johnathan Motley] inside who was a consistent scorer. But, I like their toughness and I believe they are better defensively than they were last year, which I think will be good for them down the stretch."
