Box Score NORMAN, Okla. - Alexis Prince scored 24 points to lead No. 2 Baylor to a dominating 103-64 victory over No. 19 Oklahoma on Monday night.
"I'm really excited that the four seniors had a chance - well, really three only played tonight - had a chance to come to Norman and get out of here with the win in a game that a lot of people wanted to say was meaningless for us," Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey said. "No game is meaningless. Any time you toss it up, every game matters. And I thought starting the game, we shot the ball extremely well. I thought our defense was very good and I think the defense probably set the tone for the game."
It was Prince's third 20-plus point game this season, leading her past the 1,000 career point mark. She is the 32nd Lady Bear to join the 1,000-point club.
"It means a lot to me because I never thought I would be able to get to 1,000 points in my career," Prince said.
With the 103-point game, Baylor surpassed the 100-point mark for the sixth time this season and finished the regular season having scored the most points in a Big 12 regular season with 1,533. The Lady Bears surpassed OU's 2001 team (1,514 points).
"It means a lot," Prince said. "We didn't want to come in here and not play well. We were just ready to play today."
All 11 Lady Bears who played in the game scored points, including five in double figures.
"I'm looking at the minutes played and it looks like everybody played double figure minutes," Mulkey said. "Kalani Brown and Nina (Davis) only played half of the game. Dekeyia (Cohen) played 24 minutes, Prince scored her thousandth point - that might have had something to do with her staying out there. Kristy (Wallace) - we don't have another ball handler, Alexis Jones is hurt, so it's kind of like, (Wallace) is going to have to go the rest of the year for us. But I think I pretty much subbed pretty frequently."
The Lady Bears shot 51.4 percent, including 11 for 19 shooting from 3-point range. Kalani Brown scored 17 points, Kristy Wallace 15 and Natalie Chou and Khadijah Cave 11.
Next up is the 2017 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, where Baylor is the No. 1 seed. The Lady Bears open with the winner of TCU and Texas Tech in the quarterfinals on March 4 at 1:30 p.m. The game will be televised on FSN.
