BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES
Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening statementÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I thought the last couple games we have defended well, but the difference about tonight is that we made shots. We also took care of the ball tonight which really helps when you are trying to win the ball game. It was great to see Manu catch on fire."
On if Manu got hot or if he was getting good looksÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Manu, first of all, had a banged-up shoulder. His shoulder is getting better, and I think that helped. He also got the confidence of the team and we made sure he knew that we would only be upset with him if he started turning down shots. It was really great to see him get on a roll and get hot tonight.
Senior Manu Lecomte
On how it felt getting a grooveÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It felt really good for the team and me individually. I haven't been shooting well the last few games, or playing well. One thing I never do is give up because I know that everything is going to work itself out. I believe in myself and I know I'm a good shooter."
On his shoulder hurting the past few gamesÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I hurt my shoulder during the summer and the other day it started to flare up again, and DC and I have been working to get me back to normal and I'm starting to feel much better now. When I'm on the court, I don't think about it I just try to play basketball."
Freshman Mark Vital
On Manu always making assists easyÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Manu is an easy assist. I feel like even if he doesn't make the shot it is still a make. You all saw his performance tonight, we just have to get him the ball and he will make the shots. He put on a good show and so did my teammates and it was a great win."
OKLAHOMA STATE POSTGAME QUOTES
OSU Head Coach Mike Boynton Jr.
Opening Statement..
"Congrats to Coach Drew and his team for playing really well especially in the second half. You could tell his team played with a since of hunger, urgency, backs against the wall. Our team, we have to get better, more consistently on the road and that starts with me. I have to be better for our team."
On the difference in the second halfÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I have to go back and watch the film. However, it started with Manu Lecomte. He got going and he hadn't been shooting the ball well but credit to him for being a competitor and I'm sure he has continued to work hard. He is a really good player and today he led his team to a victory."
On Manu Lecomte improving in the second halfÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I think he got a couple easy ones. Some that should have been contested more than they were. For a really good player like he is you don't need all of them to be uncontested you just need to see the ball go in the basket a few times. In my estimation, he saw that and then a good coach like Scott, he runs actions to get him more looks."
On being unable to answerÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Certainly. I mean until that last basket you know I looked up and we have nine assists and against a team that plays primarily zone that means we are not in a good flow offensively. Then you have to force shots playing one-on-one. It's not going to be very good for us. So, I have to adjust that as a coach and then I've got to make my players execute better".
