Flat goes 4-1 to help BU hold off the Horned Frogs

WACO, Texas – No. 4 Baylor equestrian (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) clinched an 11-8 home win over No. 5 TCU (1-2, 0-1 Big 12) in its second meet of conference play Saturday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The meet started out with fences where TCU took hold of an early lead, defeating BU 4-1 in the event. Madison Day's 78 snagged the lone point for the Bears.
In reining, the Bears and the Frogs battled it out with BU taking home a close 3-2 win in the event. Maggie Cincotta, Sydney Scheckel and Madaline Callaway each clinched a point, bringing overall scores to 6-4 TCU at the half.
The second half of the competition continued with horsemanship and equitation on the flat, where BU took control and surged forward to an overall 10-8 lead.
In horsemanship, the Bears fought and grinded out a 2-1 win in the event with Abbi Demel and Kacie Scharf each contributing a point.
Flat sealed the deal for the Bears, dominating TCU 4-1 with scores ranging from no lower than 84 to a high of 91. Madison Day's striking 91 earned the MOP nod.
