BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement..
"Games are always going to be competitive, and when you shoot well you usually win. Lately, we've been making shots and we've doing better defensively and making it harder for people to score. It's great to see the seniors step up and have big games because these are the games they're going to remember most in their career."

On Kansas big players being in foul trouble, and having depth...
"The good thing is, you got to have depth. That were having depth with Tristan, TJ, and Jo definitely helps. I though Jo was really under control and poised today, he did a good job offensively and executed at a high rate. Any time you shoot 57 percent against any team in the Big 12, you're doing something really well."

On what the win means to Baylor now and looking forward...
"In the Big 12, there are no bad losses, only quality wins. It gives every team the opportunity to control their own destiny from the standpoint of, you win enough, you'll be in the tournament. Anytime you fall short, it keeps you up all night. I don't look at our schedule as being more manageable, you're just always looking at the next game and looking for a one game win streak and that's really what it is in the Big 12. If you play well, you give yourself a chance to win and that's what we have to do from here on out."

On the last five minutes and maintaining the margin...
"We gave ourselves a cushion at the end where when we had a turnover and missed a free throw, we were still in a position to win. It's hard to beat a good team by 10-12 points, so it's good to put yourself in a position where you're not relying on a close margin."

Senior Manu Lecomte
On the original gameplay and margin...
"Like I said before, when we lost to West Virginia and Kansas, it was all about the last three minutes and I think today we did a great job of making the right plays at the end. We finished the game, and against Kansas, you've got to be up 10 in the last few minutes."

On his role during the game...
"I thought Nuni was shooting great, everybody was playing really well so I was out there being a facilitator for everybody and when we needed a shot, I took them. The main thing is taking the good shots and make good decisions. Jo was unstoppable inside, and we've got to keep going to him. Nuni was hitting shots from the three. Jake was playing great. I just got to be out there and make good decisions and not force any shots."

Senior Nuni Omot
On playing as a team...
"We've just come together. We knew this was going to be a fight, but we really have to do it for each other. We're starting to share the ball and look for everyone. We're starting to play together, and that's honestly how I feel."

KANSAS POSTGAME QUOTES

Kansas Head Coach Bill Self
Opening statement...
"I thought our energy level was average. We got the ball within 2-3 feet several times early and came away with nothing. Even though for the first 16 minutes or so it was just a one or two basket game but then [Baylor] stretched it out at the end of the first half. That turned out to be a pretty big difference for us because when we did come back we never quite got over the hump."

On Manu Lecomte making big time shots...
"He actually made two bad shots, I mean lets call it like it is. Those two threes he made were probably 27-28 feet. He's just a good player and jumped up and made a couple of big time shots. That wasn't a breakdown for us, I mean those were hard shots against a zone and the clock. They were just clutch plays. He's a good player."

Senior Devonte' Graham
On their lowest point total of the year...
"In their zone they're pretty active, and we weren't shooting the ball well at all. We can't worry about scoring the ball and you can shoot the ball well any game, but if you give up points like that (50 in the second half) you really don't deserve to win."

Sophomore Malik Newman
On executing today...
"I mean we cut the lead to two points, and we just had a mental breakdown after that. We fought back but at the end of the game we just had a mental breakdown at the wrong time."
