BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

BU Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On an emotional endingÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"There's a lot of emotion. The culmination of an undefeated season - the third in the history of this program, playing only five players tonight, disciplining two freshmen for very minor things, things other coaches wouldn't discipline them for, and then Kristy Wallace, yeah, a lot of emotion. To think what this program and this team has done, not for ourselves, but for this university. Thank you to the fans, what a great crowd to be this late at night, thank you to marketing for the confetti and balloons, just a wonderful night. An absolutely wonderful night, tears of joy."

On Kristy Wallace's injuryÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I know that if she could play, she would have been back out there so it must be serious. I'm sure they'll get an MRI and see what those results will be."

On playing four players through the entire gameÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"They were gassed. I had three timeouts left. I could have used them, but I felt like we were going to outlast them. I thought both teams were fatigued, and we had the lead. Why would I call a timeout? I'm just a proud coach of a gutsy basketball team that was dealt a lot of things, not just tonight, this year. Good grief, how much more can this team take? We've just got to have faith. This team, it just amazes me how we address things, how we deal with tragedies, life's tragedies. We just keep playing and we keep winning and I keep watching them laugh and cry and hug each other and care for each other and then this happened to Kristy Wallace tonight. To watch five players go out there tonight and realize we don't have a sub and we're going to win this basketball game and they just kept plugging away, when you have a team like that, it's something that a coach will look at down the road and say that team blessed me. That team lifted each other up and lifted me up as a coach."

Senior Dekeiya Cohen
On the emotions of senior nightÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"It was definitely bittersweet. We are very blessed to have gotten here, go undefeated, and close out conference very well. But Kristy (Wallace) going down definitely hurt a little bit. I mean she never gets hurt, and for her to get hurt on senior night is a freak accident. If she has anything to do with it, I know she'll fight to get back. I'm not worried about her. If she's out then it's God's plan. I've been there before, and I'll help her get through it. I'm just glad that we got to make history together, me and her."

On going forward without Kristy WallaceÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I believe so. Just in practice, I mean we try different rotations and stuff. I think we can do it without Kristy. I know that she would want us to go out there and play even harder for her. We're going to go out there and make adjustments, try to fill in where she left off. So, we're going to try."

Sophomore Lauren Cox
On her three pointers tonightÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"I just think it was open. I know I can shoot that shot, and Coach Mulkey gives me the freedom to shoot it. Tonight it was falling for me."

On Juicy Landrum's role tonightÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"Juicy played really well tonight. I was impressed, and I'm really proud of her. She was finding me when I was open, and I was knocking it down."

On playing 40 minutesÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"It's hard. Especially going into a physical team like West Virginia, but we just have to have mental toughness. We just have to get through it."

WEST VIRGINIA POSTGAME QUOTES

WVU Head Coach Mike Carey
Opening statementÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦

"Well first of all, let me say, hopefully Kristy Wallace isn't hurt that bad. I hate for that to happen to our players or any others, so let's hope for the best for her because she's had a great career here, and Baylor could make a great run in the NCAA Tournament. They just killed us on the boards. I at least thought we battled a little bit. We didn't shoot well or rebound well, but we at least played hard."

On Kristy Wallace's injuryÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"I felt sick to my stomach when she was laying there. I didn't really see it happen, even though it was on our side. I've seen players hold their knee like that so many times, but hopefully it's not too bad. That's not a good feeling."

On Baylor running with five playersÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"We've been playing with five players all year. We had chances in the game, but we didn't shoot the ball well, and we turned it over. Give them credit because they played great defense on us. They didn't give us a lot of open looks. It seems like every time we took it in the paint, we ate a Nike. I don't know if they have enough leather left to play a game next time they play, but we ate enough of it."

On how he feels going into the Big 12 ChampionshipÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬ ¦
"We're beat up. Chania Ray-you see how hard she plays. I took her out those last five or six minutes. She's just beat up. She shouldn't even be playing. Teana is beat up, too. They're all beat up, but if we can just get everybody to play as hard as two or three of them. We're looking forward to going to the tournament. I think, last year, we were a 6-seed, and we're a 6-seed here. Last year we played at 8:30, and we play at 8:30 this year too. But last year we had Lanay Montgomery and Tynice Martin, and this year we don't."
