STILLWATER, Okla. -- No. 16/17 Baylor softball (25-12, 3-5 Big 12) dropped both games of a Friday doubleheader in walk-off fashion at Oklahoma State (31-12, 9-2 Big 12), falling 14-6 (5) in game one and on a 2-1 heartbreaker in game two on Friday evening at Cowgirl Stadium.
Gia Rodoni (14-8) made both starts in the circle, seeing drastically different results from game one to two.
In game one, Rodoni worked the first 2.0 innings, allowing five runs, four of them earned, and giving up two home runs.
In game two, she bounced back to go the distance for the Lady Bears, working 6.2 innings with seven hits, two unearned runs, three walks, and eight strikeouts.
Regan Green (8-3) worked in relief in game one, taking over with the Lady Bears training 5-1 and working through to the bottom of the fourth after BU bounced back to take a 6-5 lead.
Three runs allowed, two earned, would give Green the loss, working 1.1 innings with four hits, a strikeout, a walk, and two wild pitches.
Goose McGlaun worked the final 1.1 innings, allowing eight hits, six runs and a walk in the rule rule loss for BU.
In game one, OSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, with BU cutting the lead back to 2-1 in the top of the third on a fielder's choice RBI by Jessie Scroggins that allowed Kyla Walker to score.
The Cowgirls would push the lead up to four with a three-run outburst in the bottom of the third, but BU bounced back in the top of the fourth.
Nicky Dawson led off with a single, with Taylor Ellis reaching on an infield error.
Ashley Marchand reached safely on an infield fielder's choice to load the bases, with Hannah Smith reentering to run at first.
A bases loaded RBI walk for Maddison Kettler brought the first run across, with a groundout RBI by Walker plating a second.
Jessie Scroggins roped a single through the right side of the infield to score both Kettler and Smith to tie the ballgame.
An infield error on a would-be pop fly by Goose McGlaun allowed Scroggins to race around and score from second, giving BU the 6-5 lead.
OSU responded with three runs in the fourth and a six-run explosion in the fifth to finish off the run-rule victory in five.
In game two, the Lady Bears were first to break the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth.
Kettler led off with a triple to right center, scoring on an RBI single for Walker.
That lead would stand until the bottom of the seventh, with Oklahoma State scoring two to walk off with the game and series win.
