THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas – Baylor soccer (4-2-0) completely dominated from start to finish, pounding out a 6-0 victory over Nebraska (3-2-1) on Sunday evening at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.
The Bears got the first goal of the match in the 10th minute, with
Sarah King finding the net.
Emily Bunnell took the corner for BU, serving up a pass to
Camryn Wendlandt.
Wendlandt spun and crossed a shot towards the goal that was punched up by a Cornhusker defender, deflecting up to King.
The senior defender set her feet and laced a perfect left-footed shot that glanced off the bottom of the crossbar and into the goal for the first score of the match.
Just four minutes later in the 14th,
Taylor Moon made her approach through the right side of the box, crossing in a pass to the left side of the goal where
Julie James side-stepped her defender and touched in the second score, giving BU the 2-0 advantage.
Keeping the pressure on in the 38
th minute,
Raegan Padgett worked through the right side of the box, punching a shot at the goal that deflected out away from the Nebraska keeper.
With an open look at the goal,
Jackie Crowther slid in to punch a shot through to the net, pushing the BU lead to 3-0.
Just 20 seconds later,
Giuliana Cunningham gathered an errant pass by the Cornhuskers, drove the length of the field and deposited goal number four of the evening into the net, giving the Bears a 4-0 lead at half.
Coming out firing after the half in the 49th minute, the Bears were awarded a free kick from 25 yards outside of their own goal.

Jennifer Wandt took the kick for the Bears, hooking a deep service into the box that
Julie James leapt up to catch a header shot on for her second goal of the match.
Icing the match in the 79th minute,
Emily Bunnell took the corner kick for the Bears, finding
Jackie Crowther for the header goal, finishing off a 6-0 dominating win for BU.

Baylor takes its final nonconference road trip, trekking west to Arizona to face both Arizona State (Sep. 7) and Arizona (Sep. 9) in Tucson for a weekend tournament hosted by the University of Arizona.
