KC Lightfoot named outstanding male field event athlete.
WACO, Texas – Baylor won the women's overall championship, and KC Lightfoot was named the 2019 University of Iowa Larry "Wiz" Wieczorek Invitational Outstanding Male Field Event Athlete as the Bears wrapped up action in Iowa City Saturday.
It was a good overall ending to the meet," head coach Todd Harbour said. "The 4x4 was outstanding. Outstanding runs by both groups. Kennedy (Bailey) and Sydney (Washington) both had really big days on the ladies' side. Great job by both of them."
With a team score of 91 points, Baylor took home the women's championship, while the men's team scored 61 points to finish sixth.
"The ladies' team title win was a really neat ending to a good weekend," Harbour said. "We appreciate Iowa. They put on a really great meet. It was a lot of fun, and I think our athletes really enjoyed it."
The meet ended with two 4x400-meter relays (one premier division for men and women), and the Bears came away with victories in three of the four.
