Bears look to build on 4-1 home record

WACO, Texas – The No. 42-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will return home to Waco to play host to No. 32 Kentucky at 5 p.m. Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center.

The Bears (5-7) are hoping to build on a 4-1 home record this season and end a six-match losing skid in the process. Baylor is coming of a tough stretch where it played four Top 25 teams in the last six matches.

Kentucky is 8-1 on the season and enters Waco with a three-match winning streak. The Wildcats' only blemish this season came Jan. 27 vs. Ohio State in Atlanta with the Buckeyes taking a 4-1 victory.

Baylor leads the all-time series with UK, 2-1 and will look to avenge its only loss to the Wildcats after Kentucky beat the Bears 4-1 in Lexington last season on Feb. 4.

Weather may force the match indoors, and if so, it would be played at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center. Baylor is planning on hosting its Cub Tennis clinic at 4 p.m. at whichever venue is used for the match.
