SOC Announces 2019 Fall Schedule

The slate features eight home contests and seven matches against teams that advanced to the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
WACO, Texas – Baylor soccer released its 2019 fall schedule on Wednesday. The slate features eight home contests and seven matches against teams that advanced to the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Baylor will host a pair of exhibition matches for fans to get their first look at the 2019 squad. The Bears will face Corpus Christi on Aug. 11 before hosting Texas State Aug. 17 at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.BU will kick off the regular season with a home contest against Northwestern State Sunday, Aug. 25. That is Baylor's lone home contest for nearly three weeks as the Bears hit the road on back-to-back weekends. BU travels to Drake and Nebraska on Aug. 30 and Sept. 1, respectively. A week later, Baylor heads to Wyoming Sept. 6 before making its way to Colorado on Sept. 8.
The Bears are back in Waco to host Arkansas on Sept. 12 before returning to the road for a quick trip west to take on ACU on Sept. 15.
Baylor then returns home to take on USC Friday, Sept. 20. BU will follow that up with a home match against Gonzaga Sept. 22 to wrap up nonconference play.
The Big 12 slate kicks off with a Sunflower State trip to take on Kansas State (Sept. 26) and Kansas (Sept. 29) before hosting West Virginia Thursday, Oct 3. A week later, the Bears travel north on I-35 to face TCU (Oct. 10) and Oklahoma (Oct. 13).
Baylor then returns to Waco to host Texas on Oct. 18. The Bears host their final two regular season Big 12 games against Texas Tech (Oct. 24) and Iowa State (Oct. 27).
Baylor wraps up the regular season with a match at Oklahoma State on Oct. 31 before the conference postseason commences with the 2019 Big 12 Soccer Championship, which will occur over two weekends at the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. The first round will take place Sunday, Nov. 3, followed by semifinals on Friday, Nov. 8. The championship match is slated for Sunday, Nov. 10.
Baylor is coming off the most successful postseason run in program history, winning its first Big 12 regular season championship since 1998 and returning to the Elite Eight for the second-straight year. BU has been the last team standing from the state of Texas and the Big 12 in the last two NCAA Tournaments. The Bears finished the 2018 season ranked a program high No. 9 in the 2018 Postseason Rankings. BU went 20-6 a year ago, marking the most wins in the Big 12 over the last two seasons.
Baylor returns 14 letterwinners for the 2019 squad, including eight starters. Reigning Big 12 Coach of the Year Paul Jobson enters his seventh season as head coach, his 12th year overall with the program, and will welcome seven newcomers to the roster.
