The Baylor football home opener is just days away. Prepare for Baylor Game Day now by reviewing our list of important updates and friendly reminders for games at McLane Stadium this fall. Come early and stay late for the full Game Day experience at McLane Stadium!
1. BIG 12 NOW ON ESPN+ DIGITAL NETWORK
This past spring the Big 12 Conference announced an expanded rights agreement with ESPN, which included the creation of a new digital platform: Big 12 Now on ESPN+. More than 50 live Baylor sporting events will be broadcast on the platform, including Baylor football vs. Stephen F. Austin on Aug. 31, men's and women's basketball games and many more events throughout the year. Learn more and find helpful instructions at BaylorBears.com/Big12Now.
2. NEW BEAR WALK ROUTE
A fan-favorite tradition, the Bear Walk, gets a makeover this year with a new route in the South Plaza. Support the team as they arrive in the South Plaza (directly behind the South Endzone video board), by the RGIII statue. The team will follow the path toward the Gate A stadium entrance. The Bear Walk begins 2.5 hours before kickoff.
3. ENHANCED SOUTH PLAZA EXPERIENCE
Along with the new Bear Walk route, fans will see many exciting updates in the South Plaza. A single bag check and security checkpoint will now serve Gates A, D, and the Berm, allowing fans to come through one check-point and enjoy activities in the South Plaza before having their ticket scanned at the appropriate gate. The South Plaza security checkpoint will open 2.5 hours before kickoff and gates will open 1.5 hours prior. The South Plaza will also feature the KWTX Live Game Day show and the nearby H-E-B Tailgate Village, which will offer games, food and an appearance by the Nightlight Donuts truck.
4. TOUCHDOWN ALLEY
FREE and fun for the whole family. Touchdown Alley is the place to be before the game with face painting and inflatables, along with outdoor seating and college football games broadcast on the GoVision Big Screen. New this year is the D1 Sports Training Kids Agility Course, Grande Communications customer service and support truck for tailgaters, and Tropical Smoothie Café offerings for purchase.
5. I-35 CONSTRUCTION
During the ongoing I-35 construction process, Baylor is committed to making the game day experience as smooth as possible. Please expect delays and plan to arrive early to take advantage of all the pre-game activities happening in and around McLane Stadium. Fans are encouraged to use the WAZE app on their phone or computer to plan their route prior to the game. Waze will be updated in real time to provide the most reliable routes to McLane Stadium. Please also note the I-35 Southbound MLK Dr. exit ramp will now be open all season for direct access to onsite lots 1-4. For more information about Waze and other Game Day parking guidance, visit BaylorBears.com/Parking.
6. CLEAR BAG POLICY
Don't forget! To provide a safe environment and expedite security checkpoints for fan entry, Baylor Athletics maintains a clear bag policy at all athletics venues. For a list of approved and non-approved bags, click HERE.
7. BEAR FOUNDATION LANES
In appreciation for their support, Baylor Athletics is excited to introduce an upgrade for Bear Foundation members only! Gates A, D, and C will now feature dedicated express lanes for Bear Foundation members to expedite the security screening process into McLane Stadium. Members will simply need to look for the designated lane and show their BBF membership card to security personnel upon entry.
8. BAYLOR UNITED BRANDING
Unveiled at the Green and Gold Game this spring, Baylor Athletics and Baylor University revealed a revitalized and cohesive brand identity developed in partnership with Nike. This season, Baylor fans will see the traditional green and gold on the field, throughout the stadium, and perhaps most notably, on the team itself. All 19 varsity Baylor sports will now consistently don the traditional Baylor Green and University Gold all season long! Learn more about the Baylor United effort at BaylorUnited.com.
9. HYDRATION STATIONS
The Texas sun can be a formidable opponent on Game Day! Fans are encouraged to take measures to stay cool and hydrated before, during and after the game. Fans are permitted to bring a clear, empty water bottle, 1 liter or less, inside the stadium. Hydration stations will be located on the "I Believe Walkway" and inside the stadium near the student section, and water fountains are located throughout the stadium around the 100 and 200 level concourses.
10. DISCOUNTED CONCESSIONS
When fans speak, Baylor Athletics listens! New this year, concessions will be marked at their lowest prices since moving into McLane Stadium. Fans will enjoy new, lower prices on high-demand items like water/soft drinks, candy, hotdogs and popcorn. In addition to the usual game day fare, fans will enjoy a variety of offerings from the following vendors: Chick-fil-A, Community Coffee, Double Dave's, McAlister's Deli and Pizza Hut.
