
MT Picked No. 5 in ITA Preseason Rankings

Bears receive top-15 preseason ranking for the 12th time since 2008.
WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis is a preseason top-five team in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, released Wednesday morning by the organization.
Coming in at No. 5, the Bears are the second-highest ranked Big 12 team behind No. 2 Texas. Last season, BU was No. 11 in the preseason rankings before rising to a season-best No. 5 ranking during their 25-6 campaign that ended in the NCAA Quarterfinals and resulted in the program's ninth Big 12 postseason title.
The Bears have 12 matches against teams that are ranked for the 2020 season: No. 2 Texas, No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 8 TCU, No. 13 Illinois, No. 15 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Columbia, No. 22 Oklahoma and No. 25 Arizona State.
Baylor has four returning letterwinners and newcomers Alex Garcia, Joseph Chen, Finn Bass, Rahul Dhokia, Ryan Dickerson, Christopher Frantzen and Jenson Brooksby for the 2020 spring season.
BU opens the spring schedule with a doubleheader against Boise State and UT Arlington on Saturday, Jan. 18 at Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center. The matches are slated for 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. starts, respectively.
