Bears open spring home slate against the fourth-ranked Bulldogs
WACO, Texas – Playing at home for the first time in 2020, No. 9 Baylor equestrian (3-6, 1-3 Big 12) is set to host new Big 12 foe and fourth-ranked Fresno State (6-4, 2-1 Big 12) at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco, Texas.
"We're looking forward to being back at home this weekend and back in Big 12 play," head coach Casie Maxwell said. "It will be a nice break from our tough road schedule this spring to be back on our own turf and have the whole team there to support us."
Fans will be able to shop at the Baylor Bookstore pop-up store during the meet, along with the Guess Family BBQ food truck on site with food and drinks. Free pony rides and a bounce house will also be available.
Baylor holds a 12-4 all-time record over the Bulldogs, though having dropped the past two meetups on the road. In the Bears and the Bulldogs' most recent matchup, Fresno State edged BU, 12-7, at the Fresno State Invitational.
Fresno State's most recent matchup was a 14-5 home win over UC Davis, where the Bulldogs swept the Aggies, 5-0, in horsemanship.
The Bears are looking to open the home spring slate strong, following a tough road loss to the defending NCEA national champion and top-ranked Auburn last weekend.
BU is 3-0 at home this season and has taken 40 of 51 points in its home arena. BU last competed at Willis Family Equestrian Center on Nov. 1 where the Bears took down No. 4 TCU in dominant fashion, 14-6.
Live scoring for Saturday's contest will be available at BaylorBears.com.
