EQ Leads League with 20 Academic All-Big 12 Selections

Bears land 18 first team, two second team selections on conference list
WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian landed a league-best 20 Academic All-Big 12 selections, announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
The team honors 54 first team members and nine second team members with Baylor leading with 20 selections, followed by Oklahoma State's 18, TCU's 14 and affiliate member Fresno State's 11.
"We are extremely proud to have so many student-athletes recognized by the Big 12 for their hard work in the classroom," head coach Casie Maxwell said. "Excelling in the classroom is our top priority, and these young ladies do an excellent job pushing themselves every day."
Baylor's first team honorees included Brookie Bancroft, Kammie Berns, Liana Caroccio, Maggie Cincotta, Katie Davis, Rachael Davis, Madison Day, Caroline Fuller, Gia Gulino, Clara Johnson, Isabella Nunes, Carly Salter, Kacie Scharf, Sydney Scheckel, Ellen Schrotenboer, Georgia Smith, Grace Thiel and Caroline Weaver.
Sage Banta and Michelle Mallett earned second team honors, rounding out BU's 20 selections.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
