Texas teams haven’t faced off in 20 years; series lead up for grabs

WACO, Texas – Friday will mark the first time in nearly 20 years that Baylor and Abilene Christian have met in women's tennis, but the Bears and Wildcats will end the hiatus at Noon at Baylor's Hurd Tennis Center.

Baylor and ACU last played Feb. 3, 2001 and the all-time series is locked at 6-6-1. The Bears moved up three spots in Tuesday's ITA Top 25 to No. 20 and enter the match with a 4-1 record. ACU enters the match at 1-3 and coming off its first win of the season over UTSA Saturday, 5-2.

The Bears are coming off their only loss of the season, a 4-0 decision to No. 3 Texas on the road Sunday. Baylor will look to rebound Friday and carries a 22-4 record on the singles court and a 10-5 mark in doubles this spring.
