Bears tie the most honorees in a season at Baylor
WACO, Texas – No. 7 Baylor volleyball had 10 players named to the 2021 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the Conference announced Wednesday.
Fifth-year seniors Preslie Anderson, Hannah Sedwick, Marieke van der Mark and Callie Williams, true seniors Shanel Bramschreiber, AJ Koele, Andressa Parise and Emily Van Slate, junior Lauren Harrison and sophomore Cassie Davis were all named First Team.
The 10 honorees in 2021 are tied for the most Baylor volleyball has had in one season; the previous times being in 2014 and 2017.
Baylor has the second-most student-athletes of the member schools named First Team, with Kansas State just ahead of them with 12.
There were 85 student-athletes named overall by the Big 12, 75 of them on the First Team and 10 on Second Team.
First-Team members are those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while Second Team hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
For several of the Bears, this is not their first time earning the accolade for their academic success. Sedwick and van der Mark are earning it for their fourth time, while it is Bramschreiber's third selection and the second for Koele, Van Slate and Williams. Davis and Harrison are earning it for their first time this season.

Baylor will host its last regular-season home series on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19 and 20, welcoming Iowa State to the Ferrell Center. Senior Night will be Saturday against the Cyclones.
