
No. 9 EQ Hosts No. 7 TCU in Home Opener

Bears and Horned Frogs to square off at Willis Family Equestrian Center
WACO, Texas – No. 9 Baylor equestrian (0-1) opens its Big 12 slate against No. 7 TCU (3-0) on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The Bears are coming off a narrow loss to former No. 7-ranked Texas A&M, dropping the raw score tiebreaker after a 9-9 meet. Junior Madaline Callaway was named the NCEA's National Reining Rider of the Month following her efforts against the Aggies.
Along with Callaway, Rachael Davis, Emma Fletcher, Caroline Fuller (2), Jenna Meimerstorf, Elsie Naruszwicz, and Maddie Vorhies (2) each won their points for Baylor. Callaway and Fuller were named MOP's in Reining and Fences, respectively.
Under fourth-year head coach Casie Maxwell, the Bears are 13-3 at home, including a 5-2 home record against Big 12 opponents.
BU leads the all-time series with TCU 22-7 and has won four of the last five contests.
The Horned Frogs opened their 2021 campaign with a pair of wins over South Dakota State and UT Martin on Jan. 28 and then upset No. 3 SMU in Fort Worth on Feb. 3.
