Bears visit Oklahoma State, take on Fresno State in neutral-site meet
WACO, Texas – After four weeks off, No. 7 Baylor equestrian (1-1) returns to action with two meets this weekend at No. 6 Oklahoma State (0-1) and against No. 5 Fresno State (2-0).
The Bears travel to Stillwater, Okla. for a 10 a.m. tilt with the Cowgirls on Saturday, then will take on the Bulldogs in Fort Worth at 9 a.m. on Sunday, as TCU will host the neutral-site meet.
The Bears are coming off a close 10-9 victory over the former No. 7-ranked Horned Frogs. Emma Fletcher and Rachael Davis both earned MOP awards following their efforts in BU's most recent competition on Feb. 6.
Along with Fletcher and Davis, Madaline Callaway, Katie Davis, Savannah Hemby, Clara Johnson, Elsie Naruszewicz, Kacie Scharf and Maddie Vorhies each won their points for Baylor. BU took the horsemanship event 4-1 after trailing 8-6 in the meet to secure the come-from-behind win.
The Cowgirls lead the all-time series with Baylor 26-13 and won the two contests during the 2019-20 season. Under fourth-year head coach Casie Maxwell, the Bears are 2-6 against OSU.
Baylor leads the all-time series 12-4 over Fresno State and is 2-2 against the Bulldogs under Maxwell, including splitting last season's two meetings.
Oklahoma State dropped its first match in the 2021 season against then-No. 4 TCU on Feb. 21, 14-5, while Fresno State has collected two wins over UC Davis to start its season.
