Bears move up three spots with final round 4-over 288

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Baylor men's golf moved up three spots on the leaderboard and finished in 12th place at 6-over-par 858 at the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate. The Bears entered the final round in 15th place and jumped three spots by shooting 4-over-par 288 in Sunday's third round at Papago Golf Club.
No. 32-ranked Baylor (+6) finished ahead of Ohio State (+7), Iowa State (+8), Colorado State (+10), Long Beach State (+10) and UCLA (+23). The Bears placed behind TCU (-34), No. 12 Arizona State (-30), No. 3 Oklahoma State (-29), No. 26 Texas Tech (-28), Oregon State (-23), No. 16 North Carolina (-22), Utah (-22), No. 31 New Mexico (-17), No. 20 Arizona (-16), UNLV (E) and No. 29 South Florida (+1).
The Bears entered the tournament without three of their top players due to COVID-19 protocols. BU's lineup featured both Cooper and Luke Dossey for the second-straight tournament, as well as Ryan Grider, Colin Kober and Mark Reppe. Kober played his first tournament since returning from injury.
Cooper Dossey led the Bears and tied for 32nd place at 3-under 210, including a final round of 1-over 72. Kober also shot 1-over 72 in the final round to finish tied for 56th place at 3-over 216. Reppe had Baylor's best final-round score, turning in a 33 on his final nine holes to shoot 1-under 70 and finish tied for 69th place at 5-over 218. Grider had the Bears' final counting scored with a 3-over 74 to tie for 75th place at 6-over 219, and Luke Dossey shot 4-over 75 on Sunday to tie for 78th place at 7-over 220.

33 – Mark Reppe shot 33 on his final nine holes, turning in three birdies and six pars to flip his round from 2-over at the turn to a team-best 1-under. The Bears also got birdies from Cooper Dossey and Colin Kober on their final holes, moving them ahead of Ohio State and Iowa State.
