Howard Fields III won heat three of the men’s 400 meters
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Four Baylor track & field student-athletes advanced to quarterfinals Wednesday at the NCAA West Regional Preliminary Rounds at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Howard Fields III had the performance of the day, winning heat three of the men's 400 meters with a time of 46.17 to advance to Friday's quarterfinals.
Deshaun Jones (13.87) and Eli Morris (13.76) were the first qualifiers of the day, taking third in their respective heats to move on to the quarterfinals of the men's 110-meter hurdles.
In the men's 100 meters, Kamden Jackson qualified for the quarterfinal with a season-best time of 10.25. The freshman from Baker, La., came back to qualify for the 200 meters quarterfinal as well, clocking in at 20.72 to take third in his heat.
The women's team will take the stage on Thursday, with the action being televised on the SEC Network+. Live results can be found at NCAA Preliminary West Round.
