
Sedberry Announces SACE Additions and Promotions

Ramone Cooper is Baylor’s new Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services
WACO, Texas – Baylor Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Success Marcus Sedberry announced five additions and four promotions on the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE) team on Monday.
Ramone Cooper has been selected as Baylor's new Associate AD for Academic Services. Cooper comes to Baylor from the University of Alabama – Birmingham (UAB), where he oversaw all areas of Student-Athlete Support Services. At Baylor, he leads the Academic Services unit within the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence and serves as a secondary sport program administrator.
Under his supervision, UAB student-athletes maintained a 3.25 fall GPA and a 3.38 spring GPA in 2020-21. Cooper saw 78 percent of Blazer student-athletes hold at least a 3.0 GPA, and he helped 79 graduate in 2020-21. UAB ranked in the top-10 nationally in community service, logging over 2,000 hours with 100 percent participation from every team. Prior to UAB, Cooper led the academic unit at the University of Georgia and had stops within academic services at NC State, Towson and Louisville.
Molly Ann Walke was recently hired as Associate Director of Learning Support, where she works as a learning specialist and assists SACE with its learning enhancement programming. She joins SACE from LSU, where she served as a learning specialist, academic advisor, and strategy and content tutor since 2016.
Travon Carter joins the SACE team as an Academic Coach with the track and field program after previously serving as an Assistant Academic Coach within SACE working with football. Prior to Baylor, he worked at Northwestern State, where he was an Offensive Football and Center for Inclusion & Diversity graduate assistant. Carter was a football student-athlete at Eastern Kentucky.
Molly Pannell joined the SACE team this past spring as a Learning Specialist. Prior to arriving at Baylor, she worked at Georgia as an academic mentor and as part of the Georgia Way staff.
Aaron Tebo, who was previously Director of Academic Services, has been promoted to Assistant AD for Academic Services. He will now work with both the men's and women's basketball teams, soccer and men's golf.
Cecilie Taylor has been promoted from Academic Coach to a new role as Associate Director of Academic Services, where she will assist Emily DeRatt and Khalek Shepherd in support of the football program.
On the Character Formation side, Cori Pinkett has been promoted to Associate AD for Character Formation where she leads all aspects of the department.
Christal Peterson has been promoted to Associate Director of Character Formation, and she will continue to serve as the lead for all community engagement, social responsibility, personal skills and Student–Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) efforts.
Monique Felix was recently hired as a Character Formation Coordinator after serving as the SACE Operations Assistant for the past year. She will have oversight of Baylor's career development and leadership development efforts within the Baylor Built Character Formation program. Prior to Baylor, Felix served in compliance at Minnesota and is a former Minnesota and Marquette track & field student-athlete.
