            A ticket salesman by trade, as needed, Nick Hinson brings his power tools from home and turns into a construction worker.

            When the new terrace boxes at McLane Stadium were being finished right before Baylor football's Sept. 3 season opener, Hinson pitched in to help, power drill at the ready.

            "Next thing I know, 'Bob the Builder' showed up," Associate AD Matt Johnson said of Hinson, Baylor's Assistant Director of Ticket Sales & Annual Giving. "Nick has his drill, and he's drilling in the dividers, getting them all ready, so that all of our fans had a great experience and those premium areas would look great."

            Kyle Barnard, Assistant AD for Annual Giving, describes Nick as "a guy that rolls up his sleeves and is not afraid to do any kind of task outside his purview or his job."

            Constantly on the phone talking with season ticket holders and donors, "you always know that whoever Nick is talking to is the most important person in the world, at that moment," Barnard said.

            Filling in while Development Coordinator Shelley Zych was on maternity leave, Nick took over some of the responsibilities with the Bear Foundation engagement team.

            "You would never, ever know that he had more work on his plate," said Sarah Rogers, secretary/treasurer of the Bear Foundation executive committee, "because he was just so calm and so collected and always had something encouraging to say to me. He just kept doing his job. Nick is a machine!"

            Rogers said Hinson, who came to Baylor from Boise State in Summer 2021, is not the type of person who cares about getting the recognition or the glory.

            "With all that being said, Nick, thank you so much for all you've done for Baylor," she said. "It has been noticed, much to your chagrin, and it is appreciated."
