Bears to face Denver, former Big 12 rival Colorado over the weekend
WACO, Texas – No. 25 Baylor women's tennis (2-3) travels to the state of Colorado this weekend to face Denver (1-3) on Friday before challenging Colorado (0-2) on Saturday.
The ITA released its first batch of singles and doubles rankings since the fall slate on Wednesday. Freshman Alina Shcherbinina was the lone Bear ranked in singles at No. 73.
Meanwhile, seniors Alicia Herrero Linana and Mel Krywoj came in at No. 2 in doubles. The duo is 3-0 for the spring season with two of those wins over ranked opponents.
As a team, the Bears have won the doubles point in four-straight matches.
Denver's lone win on the season came against Cal Poly on Jan. 29. Baylor has never faced Denver.
Colorado is still looking for its first win of the season as the Buffs haven't played since Jan. 30 due to five of their first seven matches were either canceled or postponed. BU – with a 15-6 record against former Big 12 rival Colorado – is currently riding a six-match winning streak.
