Bears take the win over the Crusaders by 21.735 points
BELTON, Texas – No. 1 Baylor acrobatics & tumbling extended their winning streak to six with the 279.460 – 257.725 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday night in Belton.
The Bears improved to 6-0 on the season with the 21.735-point decision over the Crusaders.
BU overtook UMHB in every event, but Mary Hardin-Baylor kept it close in at the start.
To begin the meet in the compulsory event, Baylor scored over a 9.5 in all heats but one, finishing a solid one point ahead of the Crusaders.
In the acro event, the Bears had three 9.9 scores for the heats for an event score of 29.7, bringing the running total to 68.35. UMHB scored a 28.9 in the event to have a running total of 66.55 through two events.
For pyramid, BU had a 9.95, 9.8, followed by a perfect 10 in the open heat to put an exclamation on the event. In the heat were Emily Tobin, Riley Chimwala, Raffaela Scotto, Bayley Humphrey and Tori Harris. Baylor finished the event at 29.75/30. At the half, the Bears led at 98.10 to 95.55.
Coming out of halftime, the Bears had three scores at or above a 9.5 to equal 28.95 for the event. UMHB scored a 25.35, bringing their running total to 120.9 in comparison to BU's 127.05.
In tumbling, Baylor showed out in its six heats, not scoring below a 9.0 in any heat. The open pass was the highlight of the event for the third meet in a row, with BU's Bri Harris competing and scoring a 9.875 out of 10. The Bears finished with a score of 57.4 for the event while the Crusaders scored a 50.575. Going into the final event of the night, the Bears led by 12.975 points, 184.45 - 171.475.
BU had a score of 95.010 in the team event to end the meet, bringing the total to 279.460. UMHB had a 86.250 to update their point total to 257.725 for the meet.

Baylor returns home to the Ferrell Center to take on No. 8 Hawaii Pacific for its final home meet of the season and senior day. The meet is set to start at 5 p.m. on April 2.
