Bears finalize home slate with two-straight sweeps
WACO, Texas – The No. 4-ranked Baylor men's tennis team made it two sweeps in a row with the 7-0 win over UT Tyler on Wednesday afternoon at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Bears (24-3, 4-1 Big 12) improved their home record to 13-1 with the win over the Patriots (9-9, 5-1 LSC).
THE RUNDOWN
Starting it off in doubles was court three, with Christopher Frantzen and Ethan Muza winning 6-2 over Leon Sell and Jorge Sala Frigeri. Clinching the doubles point on court two were Marko Miladinović and Matias Soto, defeating Joaquin Bianchi and Egor Shestakov. Playing it out, court one with No. 6-ranked Sven Lah and Finn Bass won 6-3 over Gonzalo Fernandez and Moritz Mayer.
In singles, Cole Gromley kept the momentum rolling and went 6-1, 6-2 on court five over Yudai Watanabe for the Bears' first singles win. On court four, Muza finished with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Safar Rasulov. To clinch the match, Christopher Frantzen bested Jonas Dixon on court six, winning 6-3, 6-4.
Playing out the match, Bass won 6-2, 6-3 over Joaquin Bianchi on court one. Marko Miladinović gave BU its sixth point of the night with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Moritz Mayer on court three. Finishing out the match was Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi, winning 7-6(6), 6-3 over Gonzalo Fernandez on court two.

The Bears head up I-35 to Fort Worth for the 2022 Big 12 Championships, hosted by TCU. Their first match is on Saturday, April 23, at 3 p.m. against the winner of No. 3 seed Texas vs. No. 6 seed Oklahoma State in the semifinals.
