MT Goes 7-1 in Day One at UTSA

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis wrapped up the first day of play in the UTSA Invitational going 4-0 in singles play and 3-1 in doubles.
Justin Braverman and Christopher Frantzen opened the B doubles draw with a 6-4 win over Nicholls State's Antoine Martin-Thiriat & UIW's Marwin Kralemann. Shortly after, they defeated the Oral Roberts pair of Ignacio Vinas and Ezequiel Monferrer, 7-6(5).
Singles play saw Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi win, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 over Jack Winkler (Michigan State) in the first round of the A bracket, while Marko Miladinović bested Lucas Schurdevin (TAMU-CC), 6-3, 6-4, in the B bracket opener. A little later, Braverman won 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 over ACU's Mihaly Deli in the E bracket, while Frantzen defeated Eli Brewer from Oral Robers in the F bracket, 6-1, 6-4.
Grassi Mazzuchi and Miladinović dropped their first doubles match of the day, 6-3, to Rice's Trinity Great and Kabeer Kapasi. Immediately after, the duo stormed back to a 6-3 win against TAMU-CC's Matthieu Peres and Lucas Schurdevin.
The team hits the courts again at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning for a doubles finals match with Braverman and Frantzen against Jose Maria Rastrojo and Cesar Barranquero from ACU.
