FORT WORTH, Texas – Baylor men's tennis wrapped up its five-day stay at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center for the ITA DI Texas Regional Championships on a rainy Monday afternoon.
 
Tadeas Paroulek, a senior from Prague, Czech Republic, took a 4-1 singles record on the weekend culminating in an appearance in a semifinal-round match that went to three sets.
 
THE RUNDOWN
Day One of the tournament saw two wins split between Christopher Frantzen and Justin Braverman as they qualified their way into the main draw.
 
Friday's tennis action for BU saw 10 wins across the singles and doubles draws. The No. 3 duo in the country, Paroulek and Zsombor Velcz, received a first-round bye before rolling over UTA's Teramo/Torres Espinosa, 8-2. Another pair Martin Breysach and Luc Koenig also had the pleasure of sitting out of Round One before a strong 8-3 win over SMU's Cloud/Sillman.
 
Both doubles teams of Braverman/Ethan Muza and Louis Bowden/Frantzen made it through Round One but were knocked out in Two.
 
In singles play, Paroulek, Muza, Bowden, Breysach, Miladinović and Velcz all took wins in the round of 64 before the round of 32 saw Bowden, Paroulek, Breysach and Velcz victorious on Saturday. Bowden pushed conference foe, Reed Collier from Texas Tech, to three sets with a win, while Martin Breysach got a win over another Red Raider, Lorenzo Esquici.
 
Consolation singles also opened on Saturday, as Braverman defeated Cesar Barranquero from ACU in the round of 32 before falling to TAMU's Luke Casper in the following round.
 
Paroulek took a 2-6, 5-4, ret. win over TCU's Lui Maxted in the round of 16 to book a spot in the quarterfinal round where he defeated another conference foe in Texas' Siem Woldeab, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(3).
 
In a semifinal match interrupted by showers, Paroulek fought for three sets but fell to TCU's Pedro Vives, 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-3.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Bears make a trip west to San Diego, Calif., for the ITA Fall National Championships and a hidden dual tournament at the University of San Diego, running Nov. 1-5.
