Bears lead all-time series 17-7 over Bulldogs
WACO, Texas – No. 8 Baylor equestrian (0-3, 0-1) hosts Fresno State (0-3, 0-1) this Thursday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center. The Bears and the Bulldogs will face off in a 1 p.m. matchup.
BU is looking to capitalize on a strong Big 12 opening that saw Jumping Seat take their first event wins of the season against Oklahoma State on Oct. 13.
Seven Bears opened Big 12 play with a win against the Cowgirls, including Rylee Butler (Reining), Emma Covarrubias (Fences), Lauren Jorgensen (Flat), Madison Mitchell (Fences & Flat), Lauren Reid (Flat), Alexis Rutledge (Horsemanship) and Maddie Vorhies (Fences). Mitchell picked up her first Most Outstanding Performer honors of the season in Fences with an 85 on Puzzle. Both Jorgensen and Mitchell have scored a Flat point in each of their last two meets.
Baylor holds the advantage over Fresno State 17-7 in the all-time series. The two last squared off in the 2023 Big 12 Championship consolation meet. BU defeated Fresno State 16-4 on its way to a third-place finish at the conference tournament. Live scoring will be available for the meet and can be found here.
Following the meet, the Bears will finish their fall season on the road. First, BU heads up I-35 to take on No. 1 TCU (5-0, 2-0) on Friday, Nov. 10 at Bear Creek Farms in Burleson, Texas before a back-to-back meets in Delaware, Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18.
